Mr. Robert "Rib Bob" Pageau

Robert "Rib, Bob" Pageau, 86, of Lyon Mountain, passed away peacefully at Meadowbrook Nursing Home, Plattsburgh on Thursday, April 10 with his family by his side. A very special thank you to Meadowbrook Nursing Home who became family over the past year.
Robert was born in Lyon Mountain, NY on August 23, 1938, the son of Alfred and Marguerite (Shutts) Pageau.
On September 26, 1959, he married the love of his life, Mary Grogan.
Left to cherish his memories of a full life are his wife, Mary of Lyon Mountain; a daughter, Lynne Sheehan of Cadyville; two sons, Jeffrey Pageau of Plattsburgh, Jay Pageau and his wife, Tammie of Dannemora; his beloved grandchildren, Heather Sheehan of South Portland, ME, Courtney Sheehan Allen and her husband, Greyson of Plattsburgh, Kristie Pageau Morton and her partner, Melissa of West Sand Lake, NY, Jason Pageau of Plattsburgh; a brother, Donald Pageau and his wife, Jeannie of Merrill; sisters and brothers-in-awl, Carol Grogan of Lyon Mountain, Jim Grogan and his companion, Barb Rodriguez of Lyon Mountain, Pat and Mike Breen of CT; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Alfred Jr. and Barbara Pageau; sisters and brothers-in-law, Veronica and Clarence Lawrence, Rita and Peter Kwetcian, Myrtle and Francis Siskavich; a brother-in-law, Bernard Grogan.
Robert was employed at Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, retiring in 1991. He belonged to the Lyon Mountain Fire Department and organized many yearly parades for the department. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus and Little Camp Hunting Club where he enjoyed playing cards.
Robert loved to bowl and belonged to leagues in Chateaugay and Plattsburgh. After his retirement, he took on the role of Domestic Engineer, since his wife was still working. In his spare time, he took on many other jobs: painting, lawn care, snow removal and whatever else his family, neighbors and friends needed. He never said no when asked a favor. He loved the Boston Red Sox, whether they were winning or losing, he stuck with them.
Calling hours will be held at St. Bernard's Church, Lyon Mountain on Sunday, April 13 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 14 at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard's Church.
Burial will be held in St. Bernard's Cemetery in the spring.
Donations can be made to the activity fund at Meadowbrook Healthcare, St. Bernard's Church stair project or a charity of one's choice.
