Obituary of Robert Lewis Palecki
Robert "Bob" Lewis Palecki, 78, passed away on June 30, 2023 in Denver, Colorado. Bob was born in Wellington, Kansas on December 10,1945 to Joan and Stanley Palecki.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl (Smith), children Lisa Fritz-Kinsella, Cynthia Maley (Derek), Teresa Eos (Les), Michael Palecki (Tracy), and Chris Palecki (Sara), grandchildren, Cameron Summers, Corey Summers, Nathan Fritz, Anelisia Palecki, Savanna Otto, Jackson Palecki and Jonathan Maley. Bob was preceded by his parents Stanley Palecki, Joan Palecki, grandchild Devin Eos and son in law Bill Kinsella.
A devoted husband to his wife Cheryl, they recently celebrated their 59th Anniversary. They met at a social venue, had mutual friends and married while he was in the Navy. They had moved to various states including California, Rhode Island and eventually after 8 years of marriage in 1973 they moved to Colorado where they have lived since. Bob worked in many fields throughout the years including, mechanic, residential remodeling and sales.
Bob was the bedrock of the family during troubled times and was long on empathy, teaching and encouraging each of his sons and daughters perseverance and pure grit. His many quotes include "don't sweat the small stuff" and " Goodnight, don't let the bedbugs bite. "
He was incredibly visual, mechanically inclined and was particularly proud of his Seabee accomplishments in the Navy. He was our consultant when anything broke down. During his life, he managed to extend that prowess into several areas and created a legacy to pass on to his adult children and grandchildren. Conversations about drag racing, and sports are fondly remembered. Later in life he enjoyed many Rockies, Broncos Nuggets and Avalanche games with his wife, family and friends.
He will be sorely missed and live on forever in our hearts.
We will be Celebrating his life on July 19th, 2023 at 11 a.m., with the service beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Saint Paul's Community Church, 8001 W 23rd Ave in Lakewood, Colorado, 80214. The service will be followed by a 1 p.m.Ceremony at Fort Logan National Cemetery located at 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd, Denver, Colorado 80236
