Robert Jay Palmiter Jr., 73, of Niles, died suddenly, Sunday, November 9, 2025. His life began July 7, 1952 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the second of three children born to Robert and Fanchion Palmiter. He married Vicky Verspelt, September 30, 1978 in Mishawaka.
Bob graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1976. He was an architect for Genesis Architects for over thirty years. Bob built their dream home on Barron Lake in 1991. It was there that many family memories were made, especially holidays, like the fourth of July and Thanksgiving. Bob was an avid Notre Dame fan, following them in multiple sports. Most important, Bob loved his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought great joy to his life.
Bob will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Vicky Palmiter of Niles; two sons, Rob (Autumn) Palmiter of Freeport, Pennsylvania, Kevin (Ashleigh) Palmiter of Grand Rapids Michigan; three grandchildren, Charlotte, Andrew and Chelsea Palmiter; one sister, Fran Palmiter of Goshen and one brother, Lloyd Palmiter of Chicago. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will observe a private remembrance. The family prefers contributions in memory of Bob be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
