Robert Ford "Bob" Parker

Robert Ford "Bob" Parker, 78, of Findlay, died at 11:55 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2025, at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay. He was born September 2, 1946, in Lima to the late John and Helen (Guyton) Parker. He married the love of his life, Lynnette Joyce Shank, July 28, 1993, and she survives. Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and will be greatly missed by his grandchildren. It is a loss to the family but a gain for heaven. He was a friend to everyone he met.

Also surviving are sons Bryan Parker of Findlay, Brian Klingler of Forest, and Jon Klingler of Findlay; daughters Ericka (Kevin Obreiter, significant other) of Curtis, Lisa (Jeff) Maag of Carey, and Amy (Tom) Baker of Findlay; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael A. Parker; and two grandchildren.

Bob was a distributor for Frito Lay Distribution and was affectionately known as the Frito Lay Man by all the neighborhood kids. Halloween was his favorite time of year and the kids would line up for trick or treat to receive bags of chips. He was a 1964 graduate of Cory Rawson and earned a master's degree, having attended Ohio State and graduated from Findlay College. He served in the United States Army in Vietnam, where he was involved with building roads. He was a member of Civitan and loved his dog, Tank, cheering on Ohio State and Pittsburgh Steelers. He liked driving the golf cart at Frito Lay Golf Events, and his daughter, Ericka, gifted him a chance of a lifetime to attend the 2006 Final Four in Indianapolis. Bob & Lynnette enjoyed their Indian Lake cottage, having gone on many boat rides, golf cart rides, visiting with his neighbors and cookouts.

Visitation will be 12-2 p.m. and 4- p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2025, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in Findlay. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2025, at the funeral home with additional visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Glen Hammons will officiate, and interment will follow at Tawa Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted by Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.

I took care of Bob at Birchaven and he left a lasting mark on me! He was always so loving and kind and had a heart of Gold. He is missed and I´ll never forget his wonderful smile and beautiful heart. My prayers go to his family.

Lynnette, so very sorry to see that Bob passed away. That is a great picture of him and exactly how I remember him. So glad we were able to reconnect while he was at Birchaven.
