Robert Williams Parmenter

Robert Williams Parmenter, 82, of Rockingham, VA passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at the Sentara RMH Medical Center.

Mr. Parmenter was born on May 15, 1943 in Worcester, Massachusetts and was a son of the late Thomas and Geraldine (Lawrence) Parmenter. Robert worked for many years in mechanical design most recently for Dunham Bush. He later worked in maintenance and transportation for Mannheim Automobile Auctions. Mr. Parmenter was a Corvette enthusiast and was a member of the Blue Ridge Corvette Club. He also collected O-27 model trains. Robert was a former member of the Shenandoah Valley Eagles #4150 and American Legion Post #188. He was an avid Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles fan, and enjoyed watching his favorite TV show, The Curse of Oak Island.

On May 14, 1969 he married the former Karen Ruth Howard, who survives.

In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his special son, Peter Parmenter; two brothers, Richard and Donald Parmenter; a sister, Linda Williams; sisters-in-law, Janet Koza and Norma Hanks; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Parmenter.

All services will be held privately and at a later date.
