Robert M. Patterson Jr.

Robert M. Patterson, 84, a life-long resident of Gloversville, New York passed away peacefully October 18, 2024 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, with his loving daughter by his side. Robert was born on September 28, 1940 in Gloversville to the late Robert M. and Dora (Perham) Patterson Sr.
In 1962 Robert was united in marriage to Gail M. Smith, also of Gloversville. The pair shared 59 wonderful years together, until Gail's passing on February 25, 2021. He was also preceded in passing by his siblings, Dr. Dawn Patterson, Stephanie Del Signore, Debbie Baird, and Michelle Iorio; and by his parents, Robert Sr. and Dora.
Throughout his life Robert was a private person, who kept to himself. However he was a hard worker, who cared deeply for each and every member of his family. He was always ready and willing to help any of his siblings, children, grandchildren, or friends who might need him.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division, with whom he completed 37 jumps. After receiving his honorable discharge from the Army, Robert went on to work at Wood and Hyde Leather Company in Gloversville. For 45 years, Robert was the head of shipping and sales for the company, until his retirement in 2009.
Robert leaves behind his loving family, including his children, Robert M. Patterson III of California, Bryan D. (Sharon) Patterson of Virginia, Stacy L. (Benjamin) Zambri of Gloversville, and Ronald M. (Jill) Patterson of Schenectady; his grandchildren, Anthony R. Zambri, Benjamin C. Zambri, Ronald M. (Chantal) Patterson, and Jenna M. Patterson; his great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Quinn, Charli, and Reece; his siblings, Ronald "Pete" Patterson, Darla Rowley, Greg Patterson, Eric Patterson, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited, and may call on October 25, 2024 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes - Gloversville, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY, 12078. A funeral service will follow the calling period at 11:00AM at the funeral home, with interment immediately following in Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown where he will be laid to rest and reunited with Gail.
