Robert Peacock Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ryan-Parke Funeral Home - Park Ridge on Feb. 6, 2026.
Robert "Bob" Alva Peacock, 95, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, in South Elgin, Illinois. Born April 29, 1930, in Evanston, he was a lifelong resident of Park Ridge. Bob lived a charmed life filled with family, friends, business, flying, skiing, golf, and adventure.

Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Lee Ward Peacock, née Ward; his parents, John William and Agnes Elizabeth Peacock, née Virden; and his brother, Jackson Peacock. He is survived by his sister, Anna Lou Arnett, age 101; his children, Karen (Karl) Hartman, Robert (Maria) Peacock Jr., and Kathy (Mark) Martino; grandchildren, Erich Hartman, Shaun (Whitney) Hartman, and Ricky Peacock; and great-grandchildren, Everett and Isla Hartman. He was also a fond uncle to nieces and nephews and a loyal friend to countless others.

A 1948 graduate of Maine Township (East) High School, Bob graduated from the University of Illinois in 1958 and was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954.

An entrepreneur and avid pilot, Bob founded Kabert Industries, operated Cottage Hill Operating, and owned a golf course in Dixon, Illinois. He was also involved in several other businesses throughout his life.

Bob logged over 10,000 hours as a private pilot and was a member of the Quiet Birdmen. Known for handing out pies, $2 bills, Crown Royal, perfume, and candy, he was often seen cruising Park Ridge on his Segway. Be it a dinner, reunion, or golf outing Bob loved organizing events and bringing people together.

Bob's final years were touched by dementia, yet his humor and charm remained unmistakably his own.

Bob lived each day to the fullest.

Fly west in peace.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2026 starting at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at Noon at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home, 120 S Northwest Highway, Park Ridge, Illinois 60068.
