Robert Peck Obituary
Robert "Bob" L. Peck, 81, of Carbondale, formerly of Sparta - born on June 8, 1944 in East St. Louis, the son of Robert Lee and Aldena Rose (née, Kane) Peck - passed away on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, at Manor Court of Carbondale.
Bob served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1966. He worked for McDonnell-Douglas repairing airplanes for several years. Bob married Susan Kane on April 15, 1967 in Marissa. They started a farm together and found out how hard it was to live a life of agriculture. He enjoyed life on the farm with Susan but decided to move on to his next career path as a coal miner for Peabody Coal Company, where he continued to work for the next 27 years. Bob loved to fish and spend time on the lake in his jon boat.
He is survived by three children, David Peck, Deborah Berthold, and Alison (Jon) Kirk; five grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
It was his wish to be cremated, and the family will have private services at a later date.
