Robert Dale Pennington

Robert Dale Pennington passed peacefully on March 21, 2026, at the age of 78. Born August 12, 1947, in Giatto, West Virginia, to Loraine Pennington and his chosen father, Bill Davis. Robert had 5 siblings, Eddie Davis, Regina Diane, Denise Davis, Beverly Taylor and “Fuzzy”.

Robert was a veteran and served his country in the Vietnam war. He was part of the “101st Airborne Division”.

Robert was married 41 years to his loving wife, Regina Pennington. He is survived by his children Kathi Pennington, Melissa Maddron, Malina Taylor, Tiara Taylor and Robin Pennington (deceased). His 13 grandchildren, some of which include Devan Hiatt, Dylan Hiatt, Lakyn Hawks, Kaley Hawks, Skylar Hiatt, Mayci Hawks, and Wayln Hawks, will always carry his memory with them. Robert enjoyed spending time with his family and holding his great grandchildren such as: Leo Hiatt, Lilia Hiatt, Hayden Hiatt, Julianna Carter, and Ka'nyah Brooks. Robert was a great man with a peaceful presence and an amazing heart. He will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he has touched.

Military rites will be conducted at 2:00 PM at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Mercer County Veteran's Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
