Robert Petersen Obituary
He was born November 21, 1945, in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Victor Loren and Shirley Evelyn Powers Petersen.
On July 19, 1965, in Peoria, Missouri, Robert married Helen Louraine Wainwright and they celebrated 58 years together.
He was raised in Peoria and attended school there before moving to Newark, Missouri in 1991 to make his home.
Bob honorably served his country in the United States Navy.
Bob is survived by a son, Kelly Petersen of Peoria, Illinois and a daughter, Leslie Petersen of Newark, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Joy and Ray Benja of Peoria, Illinois; seven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; three sisters of the heart, Meg Glover of Newark, Missouri, Nan Venegonia of Quincy, Illinois, and Julie Curry of Des Moines, Iowa; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Shirley Petersen; three brothers, Mike, Ronnie, Lyle; two sisters, Jane and Nancy.
Bob's wishes were to be cremated and no services at this time, but please reach out to his family to share memories.
Doss Funeral Home of Edina, Missouri is assisting the family.
