Robert Delmer Pope, better known Delmer, age 80, passed away February 4, 2026 at his home in Creston, NC. Robert was born August 3, 1945 in Ashe County, NC to the late Ed and Pansy Pope. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.
Robert had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and playing basketball. He was a very talented woodworker and craftsman for many years. He was a dedicated member of Big Laurel Christian Union Church.
Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Cathy Pope; daughters, Sherette Cline and husband Matthew, Sonja Church; sisters, Hazel Lewis and husband Dennis, Shirley Rash and husband Harold; grandchildren, Rachel Scorpio and husband Seth, Alex Cline; great granddaughter, Lyra Scorpio and several nieces and nephews.
It was his wish to be cremated and no formal service will be held. The family respectfully requests no food.
