Robert "Bob" M. Provost, 80, of Northford, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 10th, 2025, at the Whitney Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hamden, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 46 years to Janice Stephens Provost. Robert was born in New Haven on May 9th, 1945, and was the son of the late George and Catherine Copeland Provost, Sr. Robert grew up in New Haven and graduated from Wilbur Cross High School in 1963. After graduation, Robert enlisted into the United States Navy and served his country proudly. After his service, Robert worked several jobs over the years before opening Colonial Restaurant Supply with his brother Ed in 2000. They operated this business together before retiring in 2015. Robert loved classic cars, having restored many over the years with his son, Jeff. Robert also had a talent for woodworking and creating outdoor and indoor furniture, played both the guitar and the drums, gardening, and spending time with his dog, Molly. In addition to his beloved wife, Janice, Robert is survived by their children, Jeffrey (Shauna) Provost and Lindsay (Chris) DeMartino, his children, Robert (Jennifer) Provost, Jr. and Shannon (Jesse) Ortiz, his grandchildren, Logan and Bradley DeMartino, Hilary (Tom) Kopp, Megan and Kevin (Andrea) Provost, and Katie (Nicholas) Botz, and his great granddaughter, Mahalia Provost. He is also survived by his sister, Sandy Ricciuti as well as many nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his brothers, George Provost, Jr. and Edward Provost.
The visiting hours will be on Thursday, November 13th, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A parlor service will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday morning at 11 o'clock. Interment with full military honors will follow in Northford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929, or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, https://t2t.org.
