Carmen Iris Torres

Carmen Iris Torres was born August 7, 1951, to the late Prudencio Morales and Carmen Perez-Reyes. She transitioned peacefully on Monday, January 29, 2024, in Ormond Beach, Florida to be with her heavenly Father.
Carmen was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She was joined in marriage to Raphael Torres in 1970. She was his friend, soulmate, and loving wife; and from that union came four children Tara, Raphael Jr., Elijah and Isaac. They raised their family in Staten Island, New York. Carmen is survived by her nine siblings Ruben Morales, Eduardo Morales, Prudencio Morales Jr., Rene Morales, Roberto Clemente, Maria Colandra, Prudencia Morales, and Yolanda DeLong.
Carmen studied Early Childhood Education at the College of Staten Island. She spent some time as a Childcare Worker and Home Health Aide, but her favorite job was taking care of others, especially her grandchildren. She loved walking the trails at the park and relaxing in the backyard enjoying nature. Carmen loved listening to gospel music and reading the bible. She had a kind and loving spirit and often shared wisdom and Godly counseling with those she met.
Preceding her in death are her parents Prudencio Morales, Mother Carmen Perez-Reyes and her sister Aida Perez.
Carmen leaves to cherish her memories: daughter Tara Eason (Kenneth), sons Raphael Jr., Elijah (Portia) and Isaac (Angela); brothers Ruben, Eduardo, Prudencio Jr., Roberto, Rene; sisters Maria Colandra, Prudencia Morales, Yolanda DeLong; grandchildren Diamond, Hayley, Jasmine, Jalen, Nyla, Davon, Kenneth III, Isaac Jr., Angelina, Asia, Liya, Elijah Jr., Hazel; great grandchildren Jamil, Zora, Arrielle, Erin, Amara; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
A spring mass will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 4:00 pm at The Basilica at St. Paul, 317 Mullally Street, Daytona Beach, Florida 32114.
The family would like to thank Carmen's caregivers and the amazing staff at Halifax Hospice for ensuring her transition was made with comfort and dignity.
