Robert Reaves Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Advent Funeral & Cremation Services - Falls Church on Dec. 29, 2025.
Robert Kirby Reaves, 89, of Falls Church, VA, died unexpectedly on December 19, 2025. He was the son of Glenn and Dorothy Reaves. Bob was born in D.C.'s Sibley Hospital on October 30, 1936. He met Peggy, his wife, at W-L when they were both teenagers. At his passing they had been married 66 ½ years.

Bob worked for 44 years as the Budget Officer at United States Department of Agriculture but his heart was in serving others in the church. At Little Falls Presbyterian Church he was an elder, encourager and mentor of seminarians and young clergy. He and Peggy also worked with the youth group, UP. When they became members of The Falls Church Anglican, he was a prayer intercessor but delighted in coordinating the "engagement" ministry with his wife, meeting and mentoring over 250 couples.

Bob was known for his daily emails to family that contained some of his photographs. These connected the family in a new and personal way.

His faith was lived out in his care and interest in others and his love of the Bible and intersessions for others. His legacy is precious in the sight of the Lord.

Bob is survived by his wife, Peggy; his son William Glenn and his children with Lori Christenson Pickering, Cameron and his fiancé Arielle Aucoin, Payton, and Brooke; his daughter Jennifer Kirschenman (Jay); sister Ragan Freeman (Eric); and brother-in- law Steve Hastings (Elizabeth).

Family will be receiving visitors in the Formal Parlor at Goodwin House Bailey's Crossroads from 2pm to 4pm on January 11, 2026. The funeral service will be at The Falls Church Anglican Church at 2pm on January 14, 2026. Commendation and reception at the church to follow. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Bob's name to Congregational Care Discretionary Fund TFCA.
