Robert R. Reed, 76, of
Columbus, Indiana quickly took the hand of Jesus at approximately 4:23 a.m. on April 21, 2025 and entered into the Heaven with his wife Cathy by his side.
Robert was born in Columbus on November 21, 1948 to his parents, Donald Andrew Reed and Rosella (Miller) Reed. On July 12, 1978 Robert married his best friend and love of his life Cathy Adams at Sardinia Baptist Church by Rev. Billy Daniels. They have been together faithfully for nearly 50 years. Their marriage was blessed with a daughter Andrea Reed Pivonka (Ryan Pivonka), a son Daniel Reed and his beloved grandson Isaac Reed.
Robert grew up in Alert, Indiana and graduated from Jackson High School where he excelled in basketball. Rob also participated and excelled in Track and Pole Vaulting and won many first-place titles. Robert loved his family; he enjoyed antiques and history. Before his illness of nearly 3 years, he would plant beautiful gardens and enjoyed mowing, cooking and building different items for his home.
Rob had a love of music and was a very talented singer, bass guitar and flat top acoustic guitar player as well as a talented drummer. Beginning in high school he joined several local bands including Monte Carlos. In later years he joined Dena and the Crickets and the local gospel group The Brown Brothers.
Rob attended college after high school and then enlisted and served his country in the National Guard for 6 years. He was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergent with awards in the 1st Battalion 151st Infantry.
Robert was employed at Delta Faucet in Greensburg, Indiana for 47 years and retired in 2014.
Robert was a loving Uncle, Brother, Brother-in-law, Father-in-law, and friend. He never had a bad word about anyone and was always humble and kind.
Robert was devoted, faithful, kind and loving husband. He was very proud of his family God Blessed him with. He was always a loving supportive father to his children and grandson.
Robert loved all his family and would always be available to assist with any help they needed never expecting nothing in return.
Our hearts are broken. Rob will be so terribly missed and he will never ever be forgotten. Rob loved the Lord and we Praise God for Jesus knowing we will be reunited one day.
