The light has gone from my world – my husband Robert David Reeser(64) of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on June 10, 2023 after a heroic battle with cancer. He faced his final days with the strength and humor he was so well known for. He was surrounded by family and friends as
he peacefully slipped away and we are heartbroken to lose him. He was a beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
David was born on February 17, 1959 to the late Peggy Joyce Reeser and Robert Junior Reeser in Greenville, SC. He grew up in Fayetteville, NC, a city he loved and never left. He graduated from Seventy-First High School in 1978. David went on to make a career in the pest control industry with Arrow Pest Control where he loyally served nearly 40 years. He was well known for his professionalism and exceptional customer service. David was active in community engagement and a champion for his neighborhood, Massey Hill.
In 1984, David met the love of his life Alfreda Lee Chason, and they wed on October 17, 1987. Together they raised their children, Milton Wesley Jackson III (Jay) and Amber Cherise Jackson.
David was a simple man had an adventurous spirit that led him to walk a little on the wild side. He spent his time with family and friends traveling and attending live music concerts. He enjoyed jet skiing and
four wheeling. David loved his cats. You could always find David working in the yard and around the pool, maintaining his "paradise in the hood" and "compound". He will be dearly missed and always
remembered.
David is preceded in death by his parents and two infant sisters, Deborah Joyce and one unnamed; grandparents, Bessie and Lawrence Carter; cousin Wade Coats; aunt and uncle Millie and Wilton Fisher;
bonus mother and father Dorothy and Wallace Gibert and bonus brother Alfred D. Chason Jr.; loving bonus uncle Sherril Gibert; brothers in spirit Roger Felhaber (Buddy), Tim Estep, David Estep, Clarence Estep, Doug Estep, Randy Moore, Pat McCaffity, David Shaffer; another mother Mrs. Madeline Estep; and loving boss, RB Goforth, Sr.
He is survived by his wife and children and by sister Robyn Burkett (David); nephews Ryan Minton and Matthew Burkett (Jessica); aunts Patricia Coats (Gene) and Pam Searle (Bob); cousins Jason Long (Kristin), Caroline Pecnik (Nate), Allyson Long-Calderon (Frank), Martha Anderson (Dan); Larry Fisher and Timothy Fisher; bonus brothers Dale Chason (Linda), Willie Chason (Wanda), Wallace Gibert Jr., James Gibert (Mandy); bonus sisters Jackie West (Damon), and Dorthey Mendez; brothers and sisters in arms Bobby and Rebecca Jackson, Albert Lowry, Tonya Lowry, Aaron Daugherty, Robbie and Alijah Lowry, Ryan David Lowry (David's namesake), Curt and Anne Marie Estep, Jenna Estep, Christina Gonzalez (Leo), Loranne Estep Sewell (Thomas), Randy Estep, Rose and George Russ, Rob Shaffer, Sam Cogburn (Annette), Martha Witt, Robert Smith, Sandy Lewis and Richard Chabot, Marinda Trolio (Joe), Bob and Marcia Peace, Carole Goforth, Tom Beard (Donna), Carrie Felhaber Boswell, Mike Brown, Barbara Parsons, Barbara McMahon, and Matt Sessler; bonus son, Jamie Taylor; bonus grandchildren Aspen Lowry, Aubrey Lowry, Sweet Baby James Lowry, Skyelynn Taylor and Scarlett Taylor.
We would love for those who knew him to remember his life with us. The celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, June 17th, 2023 at Jernigan-Warren, 545 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC. The family will
