Robert Frederick Reuss

Mr. Reuss was far more patient with my shenanigans than he needed to be. I remember him talking about the "benevolent dictatorship" that was his classroom, or how he would get us to lift our music in unison and maybe get us to crack up a bit with a smile just before he raised his baton. But what really sticks in my mind was when, during announcements, an event I was involved with got recognized and he walked up to me and very genuinely extended his congratulations. I wish I had told him just how much that meant to me. He was a really good person.

Mr Reuss gave me a chance in middle school 9th grade as a squeaky voiced teenager and told me to keep following my passion I would not be the teacher that I am today without him putting me on the right path. I hope you find comfort and peace and will always remember the life lessons you taught me.

I'll always remember how Mr. Reuss brought music to life for me in High School. I appreciated his knowledge, passion, and dedication as my choir teacher. Class of 1979.

Bob Reuss was a greatly-gifted++++ teacher, and a much-loved-and-admired choral director at our beloved First Congregational Church. The world needs more "Bob Reuss" exemplars; his choir members, fellow parishioners, and students mourn his "far too young" loss. What a GEM you were, my friend! And THANK YOU for your wonderful++++ work at First Congregational Church of Wauwatosa. We love and miss you!

Mr. Reuss was the choir director for both of my daughters at North High School. My husband and I loved the concerts we attended, and the music was just like we were attending a church service. Mr. Reuss told me that the best music was spiritual and faith based music, and he was right. He used his choir directing gifts masterfully and North High, and I will always be grateful that my daughters had him as their a choral director.
