Robert R. Rice, aged 84, died November 24, 2025. Robert was born on March 4, 1941, to parents Walter and Esther Rice of Akron, Ohio. Robert is preceded in death by both parents, brother Walter Rice, Jr., and his wife, Patricia Rice.

Robert was a member of the Akron, Ohio community where he lived all his life. Robert retired after working many jobs in the Akron area. Robert also served four years in the US Air Force at Battle Creek, Michigan and Athens, Greece.

During Robert's life, he was proud of where he came from and the experiences he gained from his travels. Robert was a full blood descendent of the American Revolution, a heritage he honored throughout his life. He heard stories of his parents climbing to the top of the Statue of Liberty. Robert collected many memorable moments during his visits to sites and cities around the world. Robert climbed to the top of the Washington monument, stood in the remains of the Minoan palace on Crete, Greece, and stood on Turkish soil for a short time. Robert also visited the infamous site of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas, Texas. In addition, Robert stood on top of the Pan Am building in New York city and crossed over the Corinthian Canal in Greece.

Robert was a valued member of the Tallmadge American Legion and the Summit County Republican Central committee.

A Celebration of Robert's life will be held at a later date with interment at Hillside Cemetery.
