Yesterday

So sorry to learn of Bob´s passing and my condolences to Sally and the rest of his family. We were very close at UD and he was truly one of the greatest natural athletes I ever knew. I am so glad he found peace later in life.

I had the privilege of meeting Bob once during a visit to the Rohrbach home, where I´ve always been made to feel so welcome by my adopted Texan family. Bob was so friendly and interested and just oozed the kind of energy that you can´t help but be drawn to. I´m so sorry to hear of his passing but I know his family will carry on everything that was so great about him. Sending love and hugs to you all.

I was so sad to hear of Bob´s passing. He was a great friend to many, husband, son, and father. We met in 1979 when Bob joined the Detroit Express of the North American Soccer League. It was a bit unusual that two players competing for playing time at the same position would grow to be close friends.

Bob was a competitor on the field. Always working hard, giving of his effort to his teammates and the fans that enjoyed his play. He was a terrific teammate not only on the field but off the field also. As serious on the field as a character off the field. Bob had a personality to light up the area no matter where he was. He was known to take left turns when the sign on the road said "no left turn" but it did not say "no left turn Rohr". He was known to bring the "moon" out even during daylight hours. A great way to spend four hours was to play a round of golf with Bob. Always a surprise to all. A funny friend but most of all a great friend.

Bob and I stayed in connection with each other even though we lived in different parts of the country. Speaking with him over the years was always met with joy in his voice and a positive conversation. He loved his family dearly and his many friends. Bob will always be remembered as a dear friend. Rest in Peace my friend.

On behalf of all the Garden City Centennial Soccer teammates of Rohr we are crushed with the loss of our dear friend. I see him and my mates each and everyday because of all the framed photos of our yesteryear throughout my man cave. I have been looking at him so closely lately and just remembering "moments". In soccer talk, Bobby was our true #9. Our talisman who was a scoring machine and a menace to anyone attempting to mark him. A master header of the ball! Absolutely zero fear of anything and a one of a kind player and teammate. I know that Chelo will be attending the services representing me and our teammates. I have admired all these years Chelo´s and Rohr´s amazing bond as Brothers and am touched by everything. God Bless you Rohr. If i ever had to choose between you or Chinaglia as my #9, you are my pick 10 times out of 10. Please especially give Mr. Kevill and Gene big hugs for us. They too, loved you dearly. Your teammate, Kevin Gannon.

I am so sorry to hear about Bob´s passing. Our family was blessed to have him as a coach at Westbury Little League. Most recently, he came to visit Pete so many times as he battled ALS. He was such a great man. May His memory be eternal and bring all of you peace and strength.

Bobby as I knew him was a great guy and fantastic athlete. We had a lot of duels playing baseball together as we were growing up and then played on All-Star teams together. We also played a lot of softball at the local Tullamore Park. Was very sorry that I lost touch of him as we got older. So glad to hear about all the success. A great guy coming from a great family from Garden City.
All the best
Dr. Steve O´Brien.
