Robert Rose Sr.
It is with profound sadness that the family of Robert A. "Bob" Rose Sr., age 72, of Oakville, shares the news of his peaceful passing on Saturday, November 1, 2025, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a brief battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Sandra Leigh (Nadeau) Rose, to whom he was married for 47 years.
Born on July 22, 1953, in Waterbury, CT, Bob was the beloved son of the late Frank Anthony and Jane Evelyn (Fufaro) Rose. A proud graduate of Watertown High School, Class of 1972, Bob stood out both on and off the field, serving as captain of the football team and earning the admiration of teammates and friends alike. For more than 25 years, Bob owned and operated A & R Plating Services, where his ingenuity and craftsmanship shone through in every project he designed, built, and installed. He took great pride in his work and in the relationships, he built with those around him. Yet, Bob's true passion was found on the field and court - coaching football, baseball, and basketball for more than 30 years at both the high school and Pop Warner levels. His love for the game and his ability to inspire young athletes left a lasting mark on countless lives. In recognition of his dedication, Bob was inducted into the Watertown Football Gridiron Hall of Fame in 2001 and received the Gold Ring Award from the Water Oak Circle of Sports in 2010, honors he held close to his heart. Above all, Bob was a family man. Nothing brought him greater joy than time spent with those he loved, especially his three granddaughters. He cherished watching Ariah and Nicalyna dance and took special delight in accompanying Nicalyna to the barn and her horse shows. His pride and affection for his family were evident to all who knew him. A lifelong Denver Broncos fan, Bob also enjoyed gathering with friends for "garage parties," where laughter and stories were always in good supply. Bob will be remembered not only for his achievements and dedication, but for his generous heart, quick wit, and the steadfast love he gave as a husband, father, grandfather, coach, and friend. His presence will be deeply missed, and his spirit will continue to live on in the many lives he touched.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory besides his wife, Sandra, is his son, Robert A. (Valerie) Rose Jr., granddaughters, Vanessa Paige Gullotta, Ariah Bella Rose, and Nicalyna Evelyn Rose, mother-in-law, Sally Conroy, sisters-in-law, Patti-Jo (Leon) Anstett Jr., Linda Eucalitto, and Donna Rose, he leaves his brothers-in-law, Jeffery (Tracy) Nadeau, Joseph Nadeau, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Bob was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Amber Leigh Rose, and his brother, Dennis Rose.
Funeral services for Mr. Rose will be held on Thursday, November 6, at 10:00 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Disciples Parish, Saint Mary Magdalen Church, 14 Buckingham Street, Oakville.
