Robert C. Rucinski, a cherished father, friend and respected community member, passed away on July 1, 2025, at the age of 75.
Born on August 6, 1949, in Newark, New Jersey, Robert's early years were spent in the city of Rahway, New Jersey which he would always hold dear to his heart. His final moments were surrounded by the love of his family in
Toms River, New Jersey after a valiant battle with heart failure. Robert's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to service both in his professional career and personal life. After graduating from the Jersey City Fire Academy, he dedicated his life to protecting others as a Captain in the Jersey City Fire Department. His bravery and leadership were a testament to his character, and his legacy as a protector of the community will live on with honor and distinction. His patriotism was a core part of his identity, and he carried lessons in discipline and camaraderie throughout his life. Robert lived by the words God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. This scripture was not only a guiding principle for his service in the fire department and the military but also in how he approached his relationships with family and friends. He was the loving husband of Diane Mangold and a devoted father to Robert L. Rucinski and the caring stepfather to Chris and Helen Mangold and loved his grandchildren, Colby Brooklynn, and Elizabeth. His family as well as his furry friends were his pride and joy.
Robert's love for life extended beyond his work and family. He was an avid fisherman, finding peace and solace in the quiet moments by the water. His adventures also took him to the beautiful landscapes of Costa Rica where he enjoyed the country's rich culture and natural beauty. Robert's warm smile and infectious laugh made him a friend to all. His personality was a beacon of light in the lives of those who knew him, and his sense of humor brought joy and laughter to every gathering.
As we bid farewell to Robert C. Rucinski, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, marked by love, service, and faith. He was a man who saw the best in people and gave the best of himself. His spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, and his memory will be a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to have known him. Robert's journey on earth concluded but his story will be told for generations to come as a testament to a life well-lived and a man well-loved.
