Bob was born in Topeka on April 9, 1956, the son of Robert and Mina Cochran Sample. He graduated from Seaman High School in 1974. Bob married Debra Zirkle on March 1, 1975, in Topeka. He retired from the City of Topeka Water Department as a Utilities Director. Bob was a substitute teacher for Valley Falls High School and loved all the children he interacted with. He enjoyed running, fishing and cheering on K-State and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Bob is survived by his wife, Debbie; son, Andy (Dana); grandchildren, Blake, Kalynn, Reagan, Ashtan and Lacee; three great-grandchildren; and his brother Bill Sample. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bob will be privately interred in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northern Hills Baptist Church, and sent in care of Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614
