It is with heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of our beloved daddy, Robert William Schanhals, known affectionately as “Bubba” and “Pop”. He left this world on Monday, June 17th, 2024, leaving behind a void that can never be filled.

Bubba Schanhals, born on October 11th, 1949, in Bastrop, TX, was a one-of-a-kind character and true original, definitely one to keep you on your toes. Throughout his journey, he touched the lives of countless people with his wit, wisdom, and infectious laughter, he had the absolute best “I’m a little stinker” laugh. He had a deep love for the River Place, listening to live music, dancing, and gardening. He also loved to challenge you and “get your goat.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Edith Schanhals. He leaves behind his sister, Mary Carol Schiff (Gary); daughters, Jennifer Lancaster (Roger), Katie Hellums (Aaron), Taylor Hernandez (Juan); grandchildren (his favorite “Pasqualies”), Reid Lancaster, Karly Hellums, Riley Hellums, Josephine Hellums, Gavin Wetsel, and Theodora Hernandez, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
