In Loving Memory of Robert "Bob" Schilling

March 2, 1954 – September 24, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Schilling, who left us peacefully on September 24, 2025, in Smoky Lake, Alberta, at the age of 71, following a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Born on March 2, 1954, in Lacombe, Alberta, Bob was the beloved son of the late Robert and Rose Schilling. He was also predeceased by his cherished brother-in-law and best friend, Lawrence Billey, and his brother, Larry Schilling.

Bob is survived by his children, John Schilling (Jennifer) and April Schilling; and his grandchildren, Chase Schilling, Austin Schilling, Gavin Schilling, Addison Schilling, and Benjamin Schilling, who brought him endless pride and joy.

He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings, John Gillies (Marlene) and Linda Billey; his nephews and nieces, Damian Gilles (Teresa), Cary Billey, Adele Lambert (Jeff), Christy Billey Crundwell, Aaron Granley (Greg Smid), and Toddar Granley (Alex Price); and his grand-nephews and grand-nieces, Tristan Crundwell, Braiden Crundwell, Kathryn Granley-Price, and Samantha Granley-Price.

A special place in his heart was held for close family members Arlene Billey (Herman), Linda Billey, Debbie and Stacey Granley, and Denny Crundwell whose presence and support meant so much throughout his life.

Bob was a man of quiet strength, deep loyalty, and unwavering kindness. He lived a life rooted in hard work and humility, always putting others before himself. His sense of humour, wisdom, and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

At his request, no funeral will be held, and a private burial will take place at a later date.

"The ride was worth the fall, The fall was worth the smiles, The smiles were worth the tears, Tears were worth the miles, Miles were worth the pain, Pain was worth it all, It's all worth this life, Life is worth the ride,

The ride is worth the fall" – Cody Johnson
