Robert C. Schwenk, Jr. of Westampton, NJ and Clermont, FL, passed away on October 24, 2025 at the Orlando Health Regional Medical Center. He was 94 years old.
Born August 26, 1931 in West Caldwell, NJ where he was also raised. Robert enlisted in the US Army at the age of 18 and served for almost 20 years, retiring as a Sergeant First Class.
During his military service, he served one tour in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. During his Vietnam service, Robert was awarded The Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Achievement in Ground Operations Against Hostile Forces, the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal with 1 bronze service star, the Vietnam Service Medal with 1 bronze service star, and the Overseas Service Ribbon.
Robert rarely spoke of his combat service. His most beloved service stories were of his time as the Mess Sergeant and when he oversaw the Officers Club. After his retirement, Robert went on to work for Frito Lay as a route salesman and supported the parent company, Pepsi, by drinking plenty of it.
In 1958, Robert married the love of his life, Rosalie. The two were married for 41 years until her passing in March 1999. Robert enjoyed going fishing, gardening, and sitting on his back patio just relaxing.
Robert is predeceased by his beloved wife Rosalie and his grandson Scott. Robert is survived by his children Marian, Debora, Steven, and Laura, his grandchildren David, Joshua, and Adelaide, and his great grandchild Teddy.
A viewing for Robert will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 9am-11am at Perinchief Chapels, 438 High Street, Mount Holly, NJ 08060.
