I am very saddened to find out that Bob has left. Bob helped me and my family, in so many ways. We go back to the Orange Cross days, where I was a director. Bob was one in a million, an actual heart of gold. These are not just words, he was a genuine wonderful human being. Jestem Prawda.

Thanks Bob for giving me the start as an EMT back in 1971. You kept me in a straight line as a pseudo father and were there to help me when I needed it. You were my mentor and freind. I carry a lot of memories of that time.

I remember Bob when I was a little girl and my grandmother, Verna, worked in a local nursing home. She thought highly of Bob and always looked forward to seeing him. When I would see Bob he was always so kind and funny! He was a good friend to her and the rest of our family and a staunch, passionate advocate for the EMS community. He truly put people first! I'm sure my grandmother was waiting to greet him!

Sheboygan County has lost a "gem". I will forever remember his responses to my calls when my husband had problems with his diabetes. Bob and his crew were quick to respond and we NEVER received a bill. I was in Sheboygan Falls recently and immediately thought about Bob.My deepest sympathies to Bob's entire family. He will be missed by many but not forgotten.

I remember Bob growing up in the early 50's in Sheboygan Falls. He and Jean rented from my parents their upper flat when they were first married. As a little girl I remember him as a very "funny" man and with a great sense of humor. Most of all a very caring man. He drove my father down to the VA after a rupture ulcer when he was at the Municipal Building one Saturday night and he did a transfer drive for my mother in 1975 to Deaconess Hospital in Milwaukee where she died later in April of 1976. He took the best care of my parents every time they needed him and they never received a bill. Whenever I hear a siren I do think of him and I still will. He has patches on his wings and he should wear them with great pride. Thank you Bob for all you and Jean did for my family. Now, rest in peace.

As a student at UW-Madison in the 1970s I was hitch hiking back to Sheboygan and Bob gave me a ride. This small act of kindness and his positive disposition is still remembered by me.

Our thoughts and sympathies go out to all members of the Sertich family. Your dad was quite a guy - helpful, knowledgeable, kind, and out the door in a flash when his pager went off 24/7. He was truly dedicated. God bless you all!
