Bob was born in Boise, Idaho on February 23, 1929. He was raised in El Centro, CA where he was active in high school government and athletics. He worked as a carpenter at Holly Sugar near Brawley, CA. Bob met his sweetheart, Carrie Nell Foster and they were married on April 2, 1948, in Yuma, Arizona they were sealed in the Salt Lake City, Utah temple for Time and All Eternity on April 3, 1954.

Bob worked as an apprentice carpenter at Valley Cabinet Shop. With his brother Bill, Bob set up Sessions Construction Co. in El Centro and they built homes and restaurants in California, Arizona and New Mexico. He served as a leader in the Imperial Valley Housing Authority and spearheaded a project to build starter homes for the displaced Indian tribe in the area. Bob served as the Branch President of the El Centro Branch of the church and for 13 years he served as a counselor in the Yuma Stake Presidency.

In 1970, the Sessions family moved to Modesto, CA. After helping supervise the construction of an apartment project for Tom and Bud Stone, Bob went out on his own and started RL Sessions Development Co. Bob and Carrie moved to Hawaii and helped set up a steel framing panelized home plant that employed more than 30 people. Bob and Carrie were called on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to serve in Nauvoo, Illinois and were blessed to be there while the new temple was being built and dedicated. They moved to Salmon, ID to retire, but continued working with his sons, Rick and Jim. Bob lived a life of service and was loved by all who had the opportunity to know him.

A wonderful funeral that celebrated not only Bob but his whole family.
Bob's family has been an awesome influence since I met Mike in a Biology class in 1964. Later Mike baptized me into the church in El Centro. Bob and Carrie showed me great kindness and let me be a small part of their family.
"Don't hit the brakes" said Bob from the back seat of their Chevy station wagon as he heard the tire blow out while heading north towards Las Vegas. Mike had already touched those breaks at 85 miles per hour and that Chevy spun out of controlled and rolled over onto the desert next to the two lane highway. Miraculously Mike, Kenny, Carrie and Bob had no injuries. I wasn't as lucky but the wound on my shoulder eventually healed. Sometimes we get the right counsel but it comes too late to impact the outcome of our mortal lives. Endure to the end old friends so we can all rejoice and have joy now and forever.
Love you forever,
Tommy

A truly great Son of God.

We shall always treasure our friendship and wonderful spiritual memories gained as we loved and served with Bob and Carrie for so many years.

"Well done, thou good and faithful Servant".

My deepest condolences to the Bob Sessions family. Bob was always a kind and generous man who always had a friendly smile. One of my favorite memories of Bob was his patience he displayed when, as a young woman, he taught me how to water ski. He was very generous with his time and with his possessions. I am so happy that he is together again with his sweetheart Carrie!
