Robert "Bob" Davis Sharp was born on September 4, 1935, in Electric Mills, Mississippi, the son of Harvey Robert and Alyne (Anderson) Sharp. He attended and graduated from DeKalb High School in DeKalb, Mississippi, in May of 1953. He served in the United States Army, joining in November of 1954, and being honorably discharged after eight years of service in October of 1962. Bob married his first wife of 59 years, Gerry Sharp, and to their union they were blessed with three children. Bob was baptized later in life in his early 20's in the Baptist faith and it truly changed his life. From that day on he lived for God, he regularly attended church where he became a Deacon at the First Baptist Church in Giddings. Bob's roll as a Deacon was a fitting one because he never knew a stranger and was always trying to lead others to God. Bob was a member of the Lions Club and volunteered regularly at the Giddings Food Pantry. He was a mechanic at heart and worked with Bob Tillery Ford up until 2007, when he retired for the first time. After Gerry's death in 2015, he married his second wife, Norman Jean Hines, in 2016, and shared six years together before her passing in 2022. Bob then married his third wife, Gladys Amador, on April 28, 2023, and shared two years of marriage with her. When Bob wasn't working or serving with the church, he enjoyed hunting, and fishing. Something he considered a hobby was his service with the church. He enjoyed mechanical work, playing with his grandchildren and great grandchild. Bob liked feeding his cows and sitting on the porch with his dog, Cricket. He was a big eater and enjoyed getting together over a meal. He was a hugger, a big flirt, and was known as a very trusted, fair, honest, and straight-shooting man.

Bob passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025, in Bryan, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvy & Alyne Sharp; his first wife of 59 years, Gerry Sharp; his second wife of six years, Norma Jean Hines; two sisters, Marie Wooten and Virginia Pryor, and two brothers, Bud Sharp and James Sharp.

Bob is survived by his wife of 2 ½ years, Gladys Amador Sharp of Ledbetter; his daughters, Kay Ross and husband, Merrell of Richards, and Pam Brown and husband, Shawn of Johnstown, Colorado; his son, Bobby Sharp and his wife, Sharon of Carmine; his five grandchildren, Hannah Krchnak of San Antonio, Jake Krchnak of Johnstown, Colorado, Robby Sharp of College Station, Sydney Sharp of San Antonio, and Morgan Campbell and her husband, Nash of Temple; his great grandson, Alexander Sharp of College Station as well as by numerous step-children, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Giddings Food Pantry, the First Baptist Church in Giddings or to a charity of one's choice.
