LUNENBURG, VT - Robert Joseph Shaw Jr. 58, passed away peacefully at Weeks Medical Center with his wife and family by his side on Sunday February 18,2024.
Born March 8,1965 in New Haven Connecticut, Rob served in the United States Marine Corp for 6 years before Driving Truck and Joining a Fire Dept in Connecticut. He moved to Lunenburg VT in 1994 where he continued to drive trucks and joined the Lunenburg Fire Department where over the 30 plus years of service he advanced in positions and was Chief of the department.
Rob was all about his family, fire service, and the community. He could be heard cheering on his kids and his grandchildren at any and all events, tinkering on something from his work truck to a four-wheeler. He loved camping, going on spontaneous rides, helping his community, and relaxing with family and friends.
No matter where Rob went you could always find him bragging about his kids and grandkids. Rob is survived by his wife of 18 years Pennie Shaw, his 8 children and 9 grandchildren. Angela Shaw (Mariyah, Landyn, Silas, Reid), Robert Shaw III, Anthony Shaw and Fiancé Molly Madore, Gavin Shaw, Britannia Jurentkuff (Kalynn), Jared Jurentkuff and husband Robert Richmond, Richard Yu (Kameron, Nova), Victoria Yu and Fiancé Donald Glidden (Jayden, Jaxon), His sister Kellyanne Darling and nephews.
Robert Is predeceased by his father Robert Shaw Sr., His mother Geraldine Reynolds, His first wife of 13 years Bonnie Shaw and stepson Ricky Coutts.
Memorial visiting hours will be held Wednesday, February 28 from 6:00-8:00PM at the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
