Robert F. Shelby

Robert F. Shelby, 86, of Richland Center died on Monday, November 17, 2025 at Pine Valley Community Village. He was born on May 28, 1939 in Richland Center the son of Frank and Freda (Sudgen) Shelby. Bob graduated from Richland Center High School in 1957. He entered the US Air Force in 1957 and was honorably discharged in 1959. Bob gradated from the Richland County Normal and taught at Rewey. On December 7, 1968, Bob was united in marriage to Jan Peterson. He worked at Rockwell Automation for over 35 years and retired in 2003. Bob loved to hunt, fish, and play baseball and softball. He enjoyed helping Jan in her daycare and attending his grandchildren's activities. Bob had a quick wit.
Bob is survived by two children: Kimberly (Martin) Johnson of Richland Center,
Eric (Jill) Shelby of Richland Center;
Five grandchildren: Shane (Marisa) Sosinsky, Zayna (Josh Jones) Manring, Chandler (Brieanna) Manring, Noah (Blake McCoy) Johnson, Kyleigh Shelby;
Great-grandchildren: Islah Jones, Millie Manring, Vaylah Jones, great-granddaughter Sosinsky on the way;
Sister: Sandie (Johnnie) Granger of Richland Center;
Brother-in-law: Larry (Julie) Peterson of Viola,
Sister-in-law: Colleen Katsirowmbas of California;
Special friend Reid;
Many other relatives and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Freda, in-laws Clarence and Jean Peterson, wife Jan, brother Wayne LeBansky, brother-in-law Gary Peterson.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at the Phoenix Center, Banquet Hall from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
