Robert G. Shubinski, age 93, USMC WWII Veteran, lifetime Berwyn resident and retired controller at CUFCO in Berwyn. Beloved husband of Marion nee Davids, loving father of Merry Jo (late Tom) Wall, Robert (Joanie) Shubinski, Barbara Shubinski, Pamela Shubinski, David (Kate) Shubinski and James (Bryan) Shubinski, dearest son of the late Milton and late Eva (nee Benedict) Shubinski, cherished grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of 11, dear brother of the late Jim (late Char) Shubinski and the late Ken (Jean) Shubinski, fond uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was an exceptional singer songwriter, with over 30 songs copyrighted. He created poetry, short stories and paintings and decorated envelopes with Orville. He was an avid sports fan and loved to watch the Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks (although watching the Blackhawks could never compare to watching his own grandson play hockey). He enjoyed golf, boxing and watching bullfighting. Bob was a proud graduate of Morton College at the age of 70, with an emphasis on creative writing. He created a webpage, www.poeticbyway.com, which includes a highly sought-after glossary of poetic terms. Bob greeted everyone with a smile and had a wonderful sense of humor, creating many characters such as 'Fidgety Bridget' to keep everyone laughing.
