Robert Mark Shure was born September 11, 1953 to Martin Shure and Winifred (Hovland) Shure in Albert Lea, MN. Robert was the third son of Martin and Winnie. His older brothers Ronald (Ronnie) and Roger (Butch) were serving in the military when they received a letter from their Mom saying she had a boy and named him Robert. The first letter to let them know they were expecting got lost in the mail so the news was a nice surprise. Robert grew up in Frost, MN and graduated from Frost High School in 1971. During his high school years Bob was well known for his achievements in athletics. He led the teams in football, basketball, and track, with his favorite probably being basketball. Bob earned many athletic awards for Frost High School and developed lifelong friends through these opportunities. Bob participated in all sorts of sports and activities all in areas that he could compete in. He loved to compete and still did until this last year when his body didn't allow him to physically. Even after he couldn't physically compete, he was still beating everyone in our family in our Fantasy Football League, which he took much pride in kicking our butts. After high school he continued to play basketball, old man football, softball leagues, volleyball leagues, golf, hunt, trap shoot, fish and most recently his love for pickleball that he and Lori shared. Looking at his children and grandchildren, you can see how he passed his love down. In 1971 Bob married Cindy Thompson and together they had two children Tammy and Jason. Bob completed his Power-Lineman School in Rosement, Minnesota, and worked for 25 years as a Lineman for Frost Benco. Bob also served on the Frost Fire Department. After retiring from Benco Bob became a Sales Manager for Wesco for 20 years. He always worked hard, and that even included his meetings on the golf course, hunting trips, sporting events and all the other things he did while working. In 1993, Bob married Lori Miller. For the last 32 years they have built a beautiful life. Family, friends, and social gatherings were in their blood. They hosted many friends and created memories with so many people near and dear to their hearts. Their friends referred to them as the perfect couple. Family has always been a priority to Bob and Lori and their friends were like family as well. In the last months Bob talked when he could, expressing how blessed he was. He was very proud of his kids, their spouses, his grandchildren, and his great grandchildren. He also was so very happy to have his true love Lori by his side.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Martin & Winifred Shure; his brother Ronald; his sisters-in-law, Sandra, and Connie; as well as his father-in-law, Donald Miller; and brother-in-law, Rick O'Rourke. Bob is survived by his wife Lori; his daughter, Tammy (Brian) Bullerman of Wells; his son, Jason (Jamie) Shure of Blue Earth; his grandchildren, Cobi (Gina Goettl) Bullerman, Kyley (Cory Johnson) Bullerman, Dylan (Kloe) Herfindahl, Jordyn Levine, Caiden Shure, Kolt Bullerman, and Chloe Bullerman; his great-grandchildren, Zayvion and Naveah Johnson, Braxton Bullerman, and Krew Herfindahl and the soon to be Baby Bullerman; his brother, Roger Shure of Owatonna; his mother-in law, Arbutus Miller; as well as his sisters-in-law, and brother In-laws, nieces and nephews, and friends that are like family.
Special thanks to all who helped care for Dad as it was his wish to be in his home. Pam Warmka is an angel on earth who not only cared for Dad but was there for Lori and our entire family and we cannot thank her enough. Nor can we express our thanks for those that called, stopped, and provided for our family which also includes keeping Dad and all of us in your thoughts and prayers.
