Robert Eugene Sims

Robert Eugene Sims, age 63, of Holiday Shores, IL, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2015, along with his son in Jackson, MS. Bob was born on April 20, 1952 in Carbondale, IL, a son to the late Troy and Wilma (Loveall) Sims. Bob was a United States Navy veteran who proudly served his country. On April 20, 2002, Robert married Vikki, the love of his life, in Edwardsville, IL. He was a member and a Deacon at Center Grove Presbyterian Church, Edwardsville, IL. Bob had retired from Metro Marble & Granite in Pontoon Beach, IL after many years of dedicated service. Bob was an antique collector. He enjoyed collecting about anything; he especially loved antique cars and working in his yard. Bob greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, whom he loved very much. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his two daughters, Loralei Marie Sims and Heather Lee Sims. He is survived by his loving wife, Vikki Sims of Holiday Shores, IL; two brothers, Jerry (Carol) Sims of CO and Tom Sims of TX; one sister, Linda Condray of IL; extended family and many dear friends. In celebration of his life, memorial services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Center Grove Presbyterian Church, 6279 Center Grove Road, Edwardsville, IL, with Pastor Craig Frazier officiating. Interment will be in Woodland Hill Cemetery, East Alton, IL at a later date. Memorial donations may be given to Center Grove Presbyterian Church, American Cancer Society, Granite City A.P.A. or the Gideons.
