Robert Wayne Smith
Robert W. Smith, 77, of Wharton passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025, at a Wharton care center. He was born on November 21, 1947, in Wharton, Texas to the late Fred Maynard “Boots” and Neva Teat Smith.
Robert was educated in Boling and graduated from Boling High School. He served our country honorably in the United States Navy. Robert enjoyed working as a welder for the Department of Corrections in Rosenberg and later in Rosharon before retirement in 2005. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to rodeos to watch the roping events and the barrel racing. Robert loved listening to good ole country music, stopping by to visit friends, and causing trouble when he could. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Smith.
Robert is survived by his daughters, Cylinda Konvicka and husband, David and Kaylynn Reck and husband, Kevin, both of Wharton, son, Kevin Smith and wife, Julie of Lockhart, brother, James Smith and wife Mary of New gulf and sister-in-law, Dale Smith of West Columbia, and grandchildren, Blayne White and wife, Sarah, Brett White and wife, Kendall, Brynn White, Kyle Konvicka, Abby Konvicka, Kenslie Smith, Macie Smith and Corbin Smith and numerous friends and extended relatives.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8th 2025 at 10:30 am, Memorial services will be at 11 am at the chapel of Wharton Funeral Home.
