Robert Smith

Robert Smith, age 82, of Muleshoe, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 in Muleshoe. He was born December 21, 1942 in Dodge City, Kansas to David and Myrtle (Giesbrecht) Smith. He married Sylvia Wedel in Montezuma, Kansas on December 22, 1963.
Robert farmed for many years and was a very hard worker. He was also a missionary in Mexico and loved the country and the Mexican language. Robert had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. He talked to anyone and everyone. He loved to sing. Robert was a woodworker in his spare time and made all of his grandkids a book case for their graduation. He enjoyed being outside and working in his yard. Most of all, Robert loved kids; his own kids and the kids at church. He was a member of the Farwell Country Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Delores Koehn; and four brothers, Victor Smith, James Smith, Glen Smith and Harold Smith.
Robert is survived by his wife, Sylvia; his three sons, Randall Smith and his wife, Charlotte of Elba, Nebraska, Stanley Smith and his wife, Eileen of Ft. Sumner, New Mexico and Michael Smith and his wife, Regina of Muleshoe, Texas; his daughter, Juanita Koehn and her husband, Verle of Montezuma, Kansas; two sisters, Janet Nightingale and her husband, Loyd of Montezuma, Kansas and Linda Koehn and her husband, Dallas of Rociada, New Mexico; a brother, Donald Smith and his wife, Devonne of Brooksville, Mississippi; and his seventeen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
