Robert Charles Smith, age 80, a lifelong resident of Gulfport, Mississippi, was born on May 11, 1945, to the late Charlie and Lillian Graves Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, LC Smith, Frank Smith and Leon Smith; his sisters, Ella Mae Matthews, Béatrice Evans Edwards and Ella Mae Smith Anderson; his Grandsons Marcell Legier Smith and Darrell Lamar Smith.

Charles worked for many years as a maintenance man. His early career was with the Sun and Sands and Best Western Hotels. He was a loyal and dedicated employee of Sharkheads in Biloxi, known affectionately as "Doctor" where he later retired. Charles owned his own landscaping business for many years. He was known as a hardworking man! He spent many hours beautifying his yard!

Charles leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Cynthia Renee Smith of Gulfport and son Gregory (LaTasha) Smith of Biloxi; a devoted sister, Odessa Smith Brumfield of Gulfport; Grandchildren Makayla, Patrick, Takeia, Christon, Kennedy, Quincy, and Mason Smith; Greatgrandchildren Kimora, Kodey, Khaza and Naomi; Devoted Nieces Carla Smith Brown and Kimberly (Chris) Bates-Henry; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

I have fought the good fight; I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge will award to me on that day, and not only to me but all who have loved his appearing. 2 Timothy 4: 7-8
