Robert F. "Smitty" Smith

KINGSTON – Robert Franklin "Bob" Smith, 65, also known locally as "Smitty," of Kingston, formerly of North Attleboro and Rehoboth, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI. He was the beloved husband of Linda L. (Prine) Smith.
Born on August 18, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the loving son of the late Charles B. Smith, Sr. and Thelma A. (Fegan) Smith. Smitty grew up in the Boston area, primarily in Jamaica Plain, and attended local schools.
He began his career with the former Able Glass in North Attleboro before founding his own company, ABC Glass, also in North Attleboro, which he proudly owned and operated for more than thirty-five years. Dedicated and hardworking, Smitty took great pride in his craft and in the business he built.
Smitty loved being on the water-his "home away from home." A lifelong boater, he owned numerous boats through the years and was fond of saying, "I'm a boater, not a fisherman." While he treasured time spent on the water and running his business, nothing brought him greater joy than being with his adoring family.
In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by his devoted sons, Charlie Smith of Norton and Daniel Smith and his partner, Chantale Gingras, of Virginia Beach, VA. He was the dear brother of Billy Smith and his wife, Eileen, of Franklin; Lorne Smith of Cape Coral, FL; Robin Sanchez and her husband, Nestor, of Cape Coral, FL; and Della Hughes and her husband, Tom, of Rochester, NY. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, loving in-laws, and extended family members. He was predeceased by his brothers, Dennis Smith and Charles Smith, Jr.
