It is with profound sorrow that the family of Robert William "Bob" Smith announces his passing on December 7, 2025 at the age of 83 in Keller, Texas.
Born on May 19, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, Bob lived a life marked by dedication, creativity, and resilience. His early years in Chicago shaped the strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit that would define his life.
Bob proudly served in the United States Army for three years as a teletype operator. His time in the military instilled in him a sense of discipline and service that he carried throughout his life.
A devoted father and hardworking family man, Bob consistently went above and beyond to support those he loved. He worked two jobs to provide for his family while also running a small business—an embodiment of his tireless commitment and entrepreneurial drive.
Bob had a deep passion for the outdoors. He loved fishing and hunting, often crafting and selling his own fishing lures—a testament to both his ingenuity and love for nature. His artistic talents were equally remarkable. An accomplished artist, Bob painted murals and portraits that captured emotion and detail with striking clarity. Even later in life, he continued to share his gift by teaching an art class at his nursing home, inspiring others with both his skill and generosity.
Bob's legacy is one of perseverance, creativity, and unwavering devotion to family. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
He is survived by his daughters Judy, Christy and many grandchildren, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Ida Smith and his daughter Richelle Smith.
