Robert Biedler Smith

Robert Biedler Smith, 85, of Harrisonburg, VA passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026 at the Sentara RMH Medical Center.
Mr. Smith was born on June 20, 1940 in Keezletown, VA and was a son of the late Joseph Robert and Rena Christina (McDonaldson) Smith. Robert graduated from Montevideo High School. Robert worked for the Harrisonburg Electric Commission as a Linesman, and for Rockingham Construction. He later worked as a Chemical Operator for Merck & Co. for 25 years until his retirement in 2002. He enjoyed searching for antiques at auctions and open-air flea markets. He also enjoyed hunting and playing softball.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 61 Years, Janice Lee (Armentrout) Smith on November 1, 2023.
Mr. Smith is survived by one daughter, Teresa Circle and husband, Keith of Patriot, OH; brothers, Charles Smith, William Smith, Alfred Smith, Thomas Smith; four grandchildren, Justin Derrow, Jessica Jones, James Hall, III, Mallory O'Roark; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki Smith; one brother, Joseph Smith; and a great-grandson, Dalton Lee Derrow.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests all memorial contributions be made to the Keezletown Cemetery, 1529 Keezletown Road, Keezletown, VA 22832.
