Mr. Robert Snoek, age 91, of Spring Lake passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023. He was born December 12, 1932, in Grand Haven to Clarence and Ana (Samargia) Snoek. On July 27, 1957, he married Rose Ann Bryant, and she preceded him in death on March 31, 2012.
Robert proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was an engineering graduate of Ferris State College, owning and operating his own business for many years. Robert was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of the AMBUCS. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and was a talented artist. In his younger years he was a professional archer.
He is survived by three children: Kelly Snoek of Grand Haven, Becky (Daniel) Pitts of Yorktown, Virginia, and Jim (Denise Temple) Snoek of Grand Haven; daughter-in-law, Debra Snoek; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings: Marion Ranft, John Snoek, Dorena Dodds, Ruth Taber and Elizabeth (Bill) Chase; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sons, Kraig, and Kirt Snoek and grandson, Alex Pitts.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 21, 2023, with Father Bill VanderWerff officiating. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave., Grand Haven, MI 49417. Interment will take place in Lake Forest Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Robert may be given to Trinity Health at Home Grand Haven Hospice. My sympathy to the Snoek family. I was in AMBUCS with Bob for many years. I went with Bob and Rose to the AMBUCS National Convention in Dallas, Texas. Also to many Regional Conventions.
