Robert W. "Bob" Soderberg, 42, resident of Superior, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at Essentia Health St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, MN. He was born in Duluth on March 29, 1982, the son of William R. Soderberg and Patricia A. (Du Waldt) Bruneau.
Bob spent most of his childhood growing up near Port Wing, WI. With help from his devoted aids, he attended and graduated from South Shore High School.
Bob was born with cerebral palsy and the true inspiration that he is, it did not hold him back from enjoying life. Bob loved spending time outdoors, visiting and listening to those around him. One of his favorite places to visit was the Port Wing Marina. He also enjoyed his time in Iron River, one of his favorite people he would see there, John Pudas. Bob was known by many people in the area, if he met you, especially if you made him laugh, he would remember and appreciate you forever. He enjoyed life, moment to moment to the fullest, his happy spirit, humor and witty personality would resonate to those around him. He was intelligent and had an excellent memory, although, in fun, he would probably lie to you if you asked him for information. At home some of the things he enjoyed; watching This Old House, listening to marine and police scanners, browsing YouTube (he had some favorite personalities he enjoyed listening to and watching), and the family Dog, Minnie's antics. During deer hunting season Bob would enjoy listening to Deer Hunters Roundup especially enjoying the fun songs and tall tales of large deer near hits.
Bob was the core center of his mother, Patti's world, and they truly shared a very special bond. Patti passed away from a battle with cancer, just ten days before Bob. Our faith that things tend to work out as they should, the family finds comfort in the thought that Patti and Bob happily remain together, reunited, as they would have wanted.
Bob is survived by his stepfather Joseph "Joe" Bruneau; stepsisters Jennifer (Don) Simmons and Laura (Christopher) Petrungaro; aunts Susan (Charles) Antol and Kathryn (Vince) Riordan; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Patti and Bob's Life will be held at The Port Wing Town Hall, 83030 Grand Ave in Port Wing, Sunday, January 19th, from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
The Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral home, 1209 E. 5th Street in Superior, is assisting the family with arrangements. To leave a condolence or sign the guestbook, please visit www.lenroot-maetzold.com.

Bob was one of our son's classmates and friend from kindergarten to graduation. He was a very important part of their world. In fact our son said in his graduation speech that Bob and another classmate were two of the most important influences in his education! I also loved to visit with Bob. As a former teacher in the school I saw Bob all the time. He was always will to try and learn some Finnish words that I tried to teach him. We would always have a laugh together. He was a wonderful person!
