Robert Solstad

I met Bob when we were in the sixth grade, and we became best friends through high school. Although we were both "band nerds" we shared a common interest in cars and shared a lot of good times together. I think it was right after high school that Bob got his first 1955 Chevrolet (a coral and charcoal Bel Aire hardtop) that was the start of his long love affair with tri-five Chevrolets. Bob had several examples, and the were among the best around. In the early sixties, we even went drag racing, running a 1936 coupe with a '42 Mercury engine in the "D/Altered class at Minnesota Dragways.

Although we drifted apart in later years, we always kept in touch, and the "mini-reunions" our high school class had every year got us back together again.
