Bob:
Sure going to miss you and all of our talks about Michigan Football. I know that you'll be watching the Wolverines from that big grid iron in the sky: "Go Blue." Enjoyed setting up your bird feeder for you. Once when I was stocking it with bird food, I saw the "peek hole" that you had cut in the blinds for watching purposes. I know you enjoyed them. I know you like poetry:
I'd like to think that her and there, When I am gone, there shall remain A happier spot that might not Existed had I toiled for gain: That some one's cherry voice and smile Shall prove that I had been worth while; That I had paid with something fine My debt to God for life devine (Edgar Guest "Compensation.")

My condolences to Bob's family and friends. I worked alongside him at the Saginaw News from 1986 until his retirement. He was a very conscientious reporter. I remember when he covered the courts, editors praised his ability to track several proceedings that were taking place simultaneously in separate courtrooms and then quickly file comprehensive reports about each. He took pride in his work. I never saw him slow down. He told me about his love of opera and travel. It's so nice to see in the obituary the details of what was obviously a very full life.

I am so sorry to hear that Bob has passed away. I worked with him at The Saginaw News, and recall him so fondly. We loved to talk about theater and films, and I knew of his annual trips to New York to see as many shows as he could. I did not, however, realize he had traveled to so many other places. I will keep good thoughts for both of you.

Dear Family,
What an interesting obituary! I had no idea Bob had such a well traveled life. My condolences to his nieces. Thank you Bob for being such a nice neighbor. I keep looking out my kitchen window & expect to see you come out the front door & head out for your daily walk. I'm sure going to miss the visits we had. Thank you Bob for all the interesting Christmas gifts you brought me back from Penn. Sure hope you enjoyed all the bake goods I sent over to you. Rest in peace dear neighbor & friend.
