In December of 1984, I was invited to an orientation about a potential mission project in Togo, West Africa. I only knew a few others there. I soon met Robert and Ruby. We quickly bonded together and with many others in the room. We became like a new family that GOD had created for HIS service. This orientation led us in early 1984 to Togo and a life of ministry opportunities together in over 40 different countries around the world. Many of these countries' multiple times. Those same callings have led Robert and most others to serve actively in meeting needs due to both natural and manmade disasters in our own communities, state and nation. Robert has always be the first to answer the call saying. "Here am I, send me" HIS good and faithful servant. The impact Robert made on those he touched will never fully known, but many will have water in dry season, many will have a church to worship in, many will have a theological education, many will have handicap ramp to use, many will enjoy a seafarers center as a rest from months on the high seas , many had a hot meal in a disaster, many have new friend who's shoulder they could lean and cry on, many know Jesus Christ because Robert cared and was there in their time of need.

Robert touched my life in so many ways, and I saw him make friends with the unfriendly who became his close friend. He "preached Jesus Love" from the loudspeaker of his life and actions.

Robert's life touched so many and WE will forever be so much a better person due to GOD's gift of Robert and Ruby ("His little darling ") in our lives!
