Robert Tompkins Stutes

Robert Tompkins Stutes, 73, of Blackwell, Missouri, passed away on March 10, 2026. Born
on April 11, 1952, in Florissant, Missouri, to James Stutes and Wilma Tompkins Stutes,
Robert, known lovingly as Bob, Bobbert, Uncle Bob, and Grandpa, lived a life marked by
unwavering devotion to his family, his community, and his faith.

Robert was a man of many talents and deep convictions. He built a career as a Computer
Network Specialist, bringing the same methodical dedication to his professional life that he
brought to everything he touched. Yet it was in his relationships with others that Robert truly
distinguished himself. He was the kind of man who would pick up anyone & #39's cross and carry it
as his own, without complaint. He believed that family was family, and that blood did not
matter. Slow to anger and quick to forgive, he loved fiercely and would do anything to
protect those he cared about.

In his younger years, Robert was deeply involved in the community. He served as the
Assistant Pastor of New Birth Church, where he helped fund and operate a food pantry
alongside fellow church leaders and members, ensuring that those in need were fed and cared
for. He led New Birth Church & #39's praise and worship team, which would travel to local nursing
homes and perform for the residents. He performed multiple marriage ceremonies in his role
as a Pastor. His patriotism ran deep; he was a proud member of the Patriot Guard, a supporter of the
Wounded Warriors Project, and a card-carrying member of the NRA. He carried his love of
country with the same quiet intensity he brought to all his commitments.

Beyond his service to others, Robert found joy in the things that stirred his spirit. He was an
avid Harley rider who relished the open road. Robert had a profound love of music of many
genre. In his younger years he played in heavy metal bands as a bass player. He played bass
for the Emmitt Taylor Band for many years and was great friends with Emmitt Taylor and his
family until Emmitt & #39's passing. Many were the times that Robert would reminisce about the
"gigs" they played together. He was a fan of both Star Trek and Star Wars, and he had a
lifelong passion for computers and technology. These interests, combined with his warmth
and humor, made him a beloved presence in the lives of all who knew him.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, James and Wilma Tompkins Stutes; his brother,
Earl Stutes; his sister, Theresa Stutes; and his late wife, Sharon Stutes.
He is survived by his wife, Vikki Stutes; his daughters, Tambra Stutes (Josh) and Shannon
Stutes; his sons, Daniel Arnold (Christine), Shawn Stutes (Rosa), Perry Arnold (Nikki),
Travis Sigler (Stephanie), and Trevor Sigler; his grandchildren, Rachael Bielicke, Chaman
Stutes, Ciara Stutes, Saphire Stutes, Autumn Chapman, Nolan Chapman, Robbie Arnold,
Kristian Gibson, Austin Wallis-Kelsheimer, Jonah Heltzel, Oliver Sigler, Phoenix Declue,
Corbin Declue, Autumn Declue, and Mckenna Wilbourn; great-grandchildren Artemis
Chapman and Rowen Istre; and a host of extended family and dear friends who were blessed
to call him their own.

Above all else, Robert lived his life as a devout believer in Jesus Christ. He lived by the two
greatest commandments: to love the Lord with all your heart and all your soul, and to love
your neighbor as Christ loved us. As a pastor, a father, a husband, and a friend, he embodied
those laws daily. His family takes comfort in knowing that he now rests in the arms of the
Savior he served so faithfully, and that the seeds of love and faith he planted in so many lives
will continue to bear fruit for generations to come.
A viewing and celebration of life will be held at Hutchens Mortuary and Cremation Center,
675 Graham Road, Florissant, Missouri 63031. Visitation will take place from 12:00 p.m. to
2:00 p.m., with the eulogy and celebration of life to follow. Robert & #39's local church is also
planning a dinner in celebration of his life, with details to be announced.
