Dear Lou,

Trish and I want you to know how saddened we are to hear of Bob's passing. He was a true gentleman and a good friend. We shall miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I am very sorry to hear of Uncle Bob's passing. God has a plan for us all and I am sure he and Louise and Brenda are having a wonderful time getting reacquainted. Brenda and I always treasured our visits with your family. Mark admired Uncle Bob so much he was inspired to join the local county sheriffs office.
Uncle Bob's visits via helicopter to Washington Hosp. Center were a treat for Ernie when he was in critical condition. Ernie would perk up when he saw Bob come into his room. He also took Brenda and I on a tour of the craft while it sat on the helipad.
My prayers go out to you and your family. I was always proud to tell my friends that I had Bob as an uncle and of the achievements he accomplished in life.

Colonel Suthard was such a nice person - always smiling and friendly. I knew him through the Virginia Credit Union. He will be missed by many people.

OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU AND FAMILY. BOB WAS A WONDERFUL HUSBAND AND FRIEND.

My earliest memory of then Lt. Suthard was in the fall of 1978. I was a trooper trainee in Culpeper. I was off duty and eating alone in a restaurant.
Lt. Suthard and Lt. Scott both walked into the restaurant together, and asked if they could join me. I was scared to death, such large and imposing men.

As the years went by I was fortunate enough to work under Capt. Suthard while he was the Division Commander of Division 7, Fairfax. I have always had a great respect for him and held him in the highest esteem. He was a giant of a man, yet humble and approachable by the troops he commanded. Morale was high under his leadership.

He was a great leader and a great division commander. I was sorry to loose him as a division commander when he became Colonel because it was comforting to me to work for such a wonderful man.

To his family, you have my heart felt sympathy. You can now take comfort in the fact that he is now with our Lord.

What a wonderful man, a true gentleman. Bob represented the Virginia Circuit Court Clerks for several years and I had the good fortune to work directly with him during that time.

I know that losing him must be difficult for his family, as it is for all who knew him. My sympathies to his family.

How blessed we are to have such fond memories of the Colonel. My memories are of the great times that he and Lou shared here in Florida during their winter breaks to Lake Placid. He always took the time to stop and say hello, give a big hug and little peck on the cheek. :) I also loved his warm smile and the way he made me laugh! We will miss him dearly!!!

Nancy, Robert and family: I'm so sorry for your loss of your Dad. He will always be a memorable person to me. He had a great sense of humor and I think he really appreciated a lot of the simple things in life. I could see the pride and love he felt for all of you, particularly the grandchildren. I can also remember some funny "Eastern Shore" stories he shared on visits to his home many years ago. I know your memories will be a great source of comfort in the coming days.
