Robert had worked in maintenance for various employers. He liked to watch basketball and wrestling in his spare time. Robert also enjoyed listening to music.
Robert is preceded in death by his son, Robert Sweets Surratt, 2 brother, and 1 sister.
He leaves to cherish his memories his son, David Thomas, daughters, Edith Marks and Rayetta Surratt, girlfriend, and caregiver of 20 years Wandy William, 2 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
No public services were held.

Bob was a wonderful guy-warm and friendly, a dedicated worker, and a person with a positive outlook on life. He was such a team player throughout the many years he worked for me, and he was a friend who will be deeply missed. I spoke with Bob not long before his passing and it reminded me of all the goodness in this world. His family can be very proud of him and the legacy he leaves behind is tremendous.
