Robert "Bob" P. Taraborelli, 81, of Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on May 30th, 2025. A dedicated architect and builder, a proud Philadelphian, a fiercely loyal Eagles fan, and a man who lived life on his own terms, Bob leaves behind a legacy as solid as the foundations he once designed.
Born on June 26th, 1943, in Philadelphia, PA, Bob grew up in a city that shaped his grit, resilience, and deep sense of pride. From an early age, he had an eye for structure - not just in buildings, but in life. His work in architecture and building was more than a career; it was a craft he pursued with meticulous care and unwavering commitment.
Bob was a man of paradoxes - private but devoted, frugal yet generous in spirit, stubborn in opinion but soft at heart when it came to those he loved. He lived simply, spoke thoughtfully, and valued what truly mattered: family, integrity, and hard-earned peace.
He had a lifelong love for the Philadelphia Eagles, a passion he shared first with his brother Peter, attending games as far back as the team's days at Franklin Field. Those early Sundays helped cement a bond of brotherhood and loyalty that endured for decades. That tradition continued with his son Rob, with whom he shared countless game days - whether at the stadium or from the base of his bed, yelling at the TV. Rob now carries that legacy forward, attending every game, upholding a ritual that began generations ago and will no doubt continue.
Bob had a special place in his heart for Ocean City, New Jersey, where he designed and built a beautiful family home - and he wasn't shy about letting you know just how nice it was. Whether admiring the clean lines of the deck or the way the light hit the second floor, he took deep, deserved pride in every inch of it. His summers were spent in joyful routine: grabbing slices from Mack & Manco, stocking up on pounds of Shriver's saltwater taffy that he would finish in one sitting, and enjoying plenty of pre-made meals from Voltaco's - because why cook when Voltaco's already did it better? That home by the shore became a gathering place for family, memories, and the steady joy of time well spent.
He is survived by his son, Robert P. Taraborelli II; his daughter-in-law, Autumn Taraborelli; and his cherished grandchildren, Logan and Sienna Taraborelli, who brought endless pride and joy to his later years. He is also remembered by his sister-in-law, Gloria Taraborelli; and nephews Peter and Dean Taraborelli.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Filippo Taraborelli and Guerrina "Irene" Taraborelli Varano; his brother, Peter P. Taraborelli Sr.; and his father-in-law, Dr. Nicholas R. Varano. Though they have gone before him, their memory remained close to Bob's heart throughout his life.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 7, 2025 in Bob's honor at St. Colman's Church, 11 Simpson Road, Ardmore, PA 19003. Family and friends may also attend a Visitation 9-9:45 A.M. at the Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in West Conshohocken. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate a life lived with purpose, humor, and quiet strength.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Bob's name to the Epilepsy Foundation, 919 Walnut Street, Unit 700, Philadelphia, PA 19107 https://www.efepa.org/ an organization supporting a cause that was deeply personal to him throughout his life. His strength and perseverance in the face of this lifelong condition was yet another quiet testament to the resilience and dignity with which he lived.
As his idol Frank Sinatra once sang, "I faced it all and I stood tall - and did it my way." Bob wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
