Robert "Bob" Thomas, 84, of
Indianapolis, IN sadly passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from complications due to congestive heart failure. Bob was born to Robert and Mary Thomas on April 28,1940. After attending Broad Ripple High School, he had several jobs but none that fulfilled him more than the 10+ years he was the interior designer with L Fish furniture.
His family will remember him as a loving and gentle man full of kindness. He was the type of man whose smile lit up a room, whose stories would make you laugh until it hurt, someone who loved working on his home and yard until it was just right. He really knew no stranger because no matter who he encountered he could easily strike up a conversation and make them feel comfortable with his friendliness and personality. He loved the holidays but none more than Christmas. Santa himself didn't enjoy Christmas as much as Bob did. His home could have easily been the North Pole or on the front of any Christmas card. The pure enjoyment he got from shopping for the perfect gift for family and friends to watching each gift being opened. He loved spending time with his friends talking, enjoying good food, reminiscing about the old days and playing dominoes until four in the morning. To his children, he was loving and gentle. He made sure they always knew how much he loved them. To his wife, he was loving and caring. He made it a point to keep the romance alive and to show how important she was to him.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Julie as well as his children David (Ann), Joanie, Rob (LaShon), Julie Lynne and Shannon (David). He also leaves behind his grandchildren Krissy, Billy, Jonathon, Robert, Bethany, Ashley, Brandon, Chelsea, Thomas, Maggie, Joey, Courtney, Evan, Quentin, Skylar, Steven and great grandchildren Evan, Forest, Lane, Maccin, Casey, Jordan, Bryson, Emma and his brother John (Debbie) Thomas.
