He was born October 21, 1969, the son of Joyce (Gowen) Thompson, who survives, and the late Robert Lee Thompson, Sr. He married Cindy Goff January 30, 1991. She survives.
Besides his mother and wife, he is survived by three daughters: Ashley Thompson, Allison Thompson and Emily Thompson; one sister, Laurie Thompson; and one nephew, Dustin Thompson.
